Come on and (Poetry) Slam

Madeline Jauregui, Reporter

What’s better than enjoying some original poetry? It seems that the Rangeview Poetry Club has come up with the great idea of a live poetry session May 1st. This event’s purpose is to bring together and give the opportunity to young poets to share their work.

The qualifiers are any APS 9th-12th grade student. The event will be held here at Rangeview at 6:30, and each original piece can be no longer than three minutes. Poets who perform are even allowed to attend a Poetry Session with local City Poets, including dinner as well before the event starts.

All poets enter in free at the link below, registration is unlimited and closed registration ends on Wednesday April 29th. All audience members will pay two dollars at the door. The Rangeview Dance/Step team will also be giving a performance in the intermission of the show.

“It will be very diverse, and a a great opportunity for everyone to come together,” RHS Sophomore Whitney Fanning.
