- Coming off yet another great season, the 2014-2015 Rangeview boys basketball team is eager to hit the hardwood.
With key losses from standouts Jeremiah Paige and Trey Bridges in the backcourt, many fans are curious to see who will replace these two phenomenal players.
If anybody should know how the team will perform this season its Head Coach Shawn Palmer.
“I’m real optimistic on the overall team,” said Palmer “Not a lot of people have high expectations for us but I believe we have the potential to be better than last year.”
Losing 2 key seniors on the on the team with experience and leadership can often affect a team but with 6 returning varsity players from the previous season the boys basketball team shouldn’t have much hassle.
“The seniors on the team have to step up, and lead in different ways on and off the court.” Said Palmer
One of the returning 6 varsity players is senior forward Tarren Storey-Way. Storey-Way has been a 3 year varsity player for Palmer and he believes that this season will, “be difficult at first.” Says Storey-Way
“We no longer have a dominant scorer so we have to play team ball and communicate to help make everybody better.”
With the annual Red vs White game over with and the 1st scrimmages under their belt, the Varsity basketball team’s first game jitters are out the way and the determination starts.
December 4, the Raider boys’ basketball team travels to Thomas Jefferson where they take on a solid Spartan squad in the team’s 1st game of the season.
