This past all-star game has to have been one to go down in history but for all the wrong reasons. It shocked the world with the laziness and terrible performance of those so-called all-stars. Watching the game was disappointing for any basketball fan and a disappointment for the game in general. Just watching the lack of defense, the horrible playmaking, and their abysmal effort. The offensive side of the game was the worst part, ending with a final score, of 211 east to 186 west.
The all-star game used to symbolize when the best players in the world can show off their talents to prove why they are the best in the league. If you were to look back just three years ago, teams wanted to win so badly not for just another meaningless trophy but for the respect of being known as the best of the best. Nowadays players have no drive to win, only to score. Jokic showed that he didn’t want to be there alongside many others. When they got on the court he was instantly goofing off, not playing basketball the way it was meant to be played. The fans used to look forward to the all-star game, knowing that everyone on that court played with one hundred and one percent.
As the all-star game continues to go on in the future, they should start to have new talent that rises up off the streets or even have players in the league who don’t get enough opportunities. The player then could get more opportunities they don’t normally receive during the regular season games due to all the starting players. Once they had added Steph and Sabrina’s 3-point contests, it changed the all-star game and everyone wanted to watch. After that, it was back to normal, of already knowing who was going to win the dunk contest and even the skill challenges. The NBA should really reflect on what happened during this all-star game and see what they can do to change so that something like that doesn’t happen again in the years to come for the NBA.

Best Story in the world. Whoever wrote this needs to run the NBA.
