The kick off to opening day was amazing in a way. Although it was mostly nothing but blowouts. The Dodgers beat the Cardinals 7-1 and the Orioles took down the Angels 11-3. Even though these scores seem very demeaning on the teams, that didn’t prove to be the worst part of the day. The Arizona Diamond destroyed the Rockies 16-1 and the game was all over in the 3rd inning after scoring 14 points. The Cardinals and Angels fans may be mad, unlike Rockies fans. Even after all those scores, the MLB is still something fun and entertaining to watch. The very next game that the Rockies played was crazy. A inside the park homerun, aka, a little league home run during the cubs game on monday april 1st. Even with the terrible teams, the opening day was mostly exciting.
for new and old players were very exciting to see, besides what happened with them. Players like Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto kicked the season off with a bang, letting everyone know why they are the best in the league. Some games surprised most with the blowouts that weren’t expected and some that deffinenty were, like the Astros. As a whole the season had started off pretty good for the most part, other than some teams. Mookie Betts is one to talk about during the new season. Starting off with five home runs in eight games, setting a Dodger record for leadoff home runs just yesterday April 2nd.
Throughout the years, most people have lost interest in the game and just stopped coming to see great players show off their amazing talents. Some new rules have occurred with the new season. Last year they added a pitch clock to the game, giving players twenty seconds to start their windup and pitch. The MLB now limited it down to eighteen seconds to speed the game up even more. Players will have a larger base lane on the base paths, so players can beat out a bunt down the first base line. The league has also added mound visits to prevent the head Coach from coming down every other inning to check on their pitchers and give the infield and outfield a break. Another rule they added was the California little league rule, allowing a runner on second when the game is tied in the 9th inning. Even though the new rule changes are very little tweaks compared to last year, the new rules were very much needed to continue to make the game even better.
