As the end of 2024 quickly approaches, there are a handful of films being released that the Raider Family are ecstatic to watch.
As of November 22, there are three main movies expected to show in theaters, one of them being Gladiator II. The first film to this sequel came out 24 years ago in 2000, so adding to the plot is much needed.This movie received a rating of 80% Rotten Tomatoes.
Next movie being released on the 22nd, is Wicked, starring Ariana Grande. This movie is set to have the ‘Wizard of Oz’ storyline, along with the original musical, also titled ‘Wicked’. This movie being directed by Universal Pictures is directed by Jon M. Chu.
Last but not least is Flow. In this movie, an adventurous cat is trying to make his way back home after his city began to flood. Clearly, this movie is targeted for younger audiences, but it received a 97% on rotten tomatoes.
The long awaited Moana 2 is releasing on November 27th. The plot includes Moana sailing on an adventure after receiving a call from her wayfinding ancestors. Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho will be playing the two main characters, Moana and Maui. Currently, Moana is projected to earn at least $135 Million on its opening weekend.
Moving into December movies, The Return, Werewolves, The Order, and How to Kill Monsters, are all showing in theaters on December 6th. The Return falls into the genre of history/drama and is directed by Uberto Pasolini. This movie’s plot consists of a husband and father who must embark on a journey to save his family. Rotten Tomatoes gave this move a 85% rating.
Next up on this list, we have Werewolves. This movie is based on two scientists trying to do everything in their power to stop a mutation that is turning others into werewolves. There are many movies made like this previously, but what makes this one so different from the rest is the high quality in the graphics.
The Order is also coming out on December 6th, and is directed by Justin Kurzel. It is about an investigator who has to catch criminals of robbery and car theft, alone.
How to Kill Monsters consists of a plot of a group of people fighting off monsters from another dimension. This movie’s IMDb rating is 7.2/10.
Nickel boys is a historical drama film with a 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In this movie, two African American boys are sent to Nickel Academy of learning, they must survive. Nickel Boys will be in a theater near you on December 13th of this year.
December 20th is a very important day for remakes and sequels as it includes Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Mufasa the Lion King. Starting with Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, team up once again to try and defeat Shadow. This movie projected to reach a whopping one billion dollars, considering the last two didn’t make as much due to covid.
Last but not least on this list for December, is Mufasa the Lion King. Directed by Barry Jenkins, this two hour film has Disney fans all over the world riled up and excited for its release. With a budget of $200 million, this movie is expected to gain at least $66 million opening weekend.
