Looking through the halls of Rangeview, red and black face paint, shirts and bandanas are everywhere. That’s because today marks the fifth and final day of homecoming week. Today is spirit day and more importantly the day of  the Homecoming football game and students are ready to watch the Raiders win.

With the season just about to its halfway mark, the Raiders fifth game will be their Homecoming.  Coming in at 1-3, the Raiders will look for a big win against Hinkley High School.  Hinkley is not much better as they will enter the game 1-4.

Despite the three losses, the Raiders are undefeated in league play.  As they beat Grand Junction two weeks ago, 26-7.  The next five games will all be league games as they retain the opportunity to win league once again and go to the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.

“It’s very important to win,” said one of the captains, Junior AJ Thomas. “It’s one of the biggest games of the year.”

The Raiders will once again turn to their playmaking combo of seniors, Devante Wheaten and Elijah Reed.  To date the seniors have combined for three interceptions, 57 tackles, and five touchdowns.

“Everyone needs to do their jobs and assignments,” said Senior Lamont Weddle.

Tonight at 6 p.m. at APS Stadium the Raiders will look to win their homecoming game and improve to 2-3 against Hinkley High School.
