Today, February 3, is National Signing day.  Rangeview has 11 Athletes signing to play sports at the next level:

Elijah Reed Football

Elijah (EJ) Reed will be signing to play football at the Division I University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.  In his senior season at Rangeview Reed caught 25 passes for 496 yards and 7 touchdowns.  However, Reed will be playing a safety position for the Coyotes.  During his high school career on defense Reed totaled 11 interceptions and 111 total tackles. Reed will major in Communications.

Jackie McBride, Volleyball

Jackie McBride is signing to play volleyball at the Division I University of Wyoming in Laramie Wyoming.  McBride played Varsity Volleyball for three seasons at Rangeview and finished with some impressive career totals.  In her three seasons Mcbride totaled 511 kills, 132 blocks, and 50 aces.

“I’m looking forward to competing at a very high level and becoming a part of the program,” said McBride.  McBride’s major is undecided.

Sydney Hunt, Volleyball

Sydney Hunt will sign to play volleyball at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. Doane competes in NAIA Athletics.  Hunt spent just one season on Varsity.  During that season she amassed 32 kills, 19 blocks, and 14 digs.

Kelsey Hurtado, Volleyball

Kelsey Hurtado is signing to play volleyball at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado.  Hurtado spent all four seasons on Varsity, however she attended Gateway High school for her Freshman and sophomore years before transferring to RHS.  During her two seasons at Rangeview she totaled 239 kills, 332 digs, and 67 aces.

Edgar Castaneda, Baseball

Edgar Castaneda will be signing to play baseball at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.  Castaneda also spent his first two seasons at Gateway before transferring to Rangeview.  In his Junior season at Rangeview, Castaneda hit .354 with 10 extra base hits, including one home run, and lead the team in RBI, with 18.  He also lead the team in doubles, with six, and triples, with three.

Lamont Weddle, Football

Weddle will be signing to play football at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.  Concordia competes in NAIA Athletics.  in his one season on varsity Weddle totaled 54 tackles and one interception.  Weddle is looking forward to redshirting and getting big, and will be majoring in sports science.

Angela Cordova, Softball

Cordova will be signing to play softball at Division II Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.

Cordova was a member of Varsity softball all four years and it showed. In her career she hit .551 with 77 runs batted in and 16 home runs, striking out just nine times in her high school career.  Cordova is looking forward to playing at a higher level of competition and will be majoring in sports medicine.

Tomarow Whitfield, Girls Basketball

Whitfield will be signing to play basketball at, Division II, Dixie State University in St. George, Utah.  Whitfield has been on varsity for the past two seasons and is currently averaging 8.5 points per game to go along with 3.9 rebounds per game.

Alex Mcfall, Football

Mcfall will be signing to play football at the Division II Chadron State College in Chadron Nebraska.  Mcfall was on varsity for two years helping them on the defensive and offensive lines.

Devon Harris, Football

Harris will be joining Lamont Weddle in signing at Concordia University.  Harris was on varsity for two seasons at Rangeview. In his senior season he recorded 28 tackles and one sack.

Avery Allmond, Track and Field
Allmond will be signing to run track at Augustana State College in Rock Island Illinois.
