The Man Who Came to Dinner is coming to Rangeview December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This is the first time the drama specific APA class is putting on their own production.

This comedic play written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart takes place in the 1940s in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The plot revolves around the many events that take place when Sheridan Whiteside, portrayed by Corben Gertschitz (12), has an unexpected stay at Ernest W. Stanley’s (Senior, Adam Koudsi) home after injuring himself.

“It’s super funny and full of surprises,” says cast member Darlenne Guerra (12) who plays Lorraine Sheldon. “I think comedies are some of the best plays the Rangeview theater program has put on.”

Under the direction of Ryan Hill, the RHS Performing Arts students involved in the production of this play have been working long hours during and after school since September to make sure the actors are prepared by opening night.

“We chose this show because it fits the style of the class and suits the actors very well,” explains Hill. “This is the first time we’re doing a play for the APA drama class and it fits the actors personalities and talents perfectly.”

This show is something new that not many students have heard of before but, according to Hill, the fast-paced and action-packed show will be something that appeals to many Rangeview students.

“I’ve never heard of this play before but it sounds really interesting,” said junior Manuel Cerna, “I love going to our shows and supporting my theater friends and I’m excited to see what this play is about.”

Make sure to come and support your fellow Rangeview APA students this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00pm. Tickets will be selling at $8 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens, and $6 for students with an activity card.
