JJ’s Light sheds light on a local issue
January 6, 2017

Recently, the organization has turned their focus on a more local issue: distracted driving among teenagers. During this last week, JJ’s Light has organized several events in attempt to make the students of Rangeview High School aware of the problems of driving distracted; whether that be by texting, snapchatting, talking on the phone, driving tired, etc.
Beginning on Tuesday, the organization has presented to all four of the classes individually, informing the student body about upcoming activities, the foundation’s goal, and, of course, the dangers of driving distracted.
On Wednesday, the group organized various activities during both A and B lunch for students to partake in. This included driving simulations, riding bicycles around obstacles, and signing a pledge to promise never to drive distracted.
Today in the Rangeview staff parking lot at 3:45 pm, JJ’s Light – with the help of the Aurora Police Department, Farmers Insurance and Children’s Hospital Colorado – is going to perform a simulated car crash with Flight for Life. There will be a live car extraction, a real helicopter landing, ambulance, and jaws of life. Including, a chance to win a $100 gift card from this week’s previous raffles.
