On Saturday the 21st, thousands of people gathered downtown at the Women’s March on Denver. The march was expected to have about 40,000 participants, but an estimated 100,000 showed up to rally support, according to 9News. While the march was not protesting anything specifically, citizens gathered to show the nation that they will stand united against anyone or anything that tries to divide them. One of the various chants that broke out during the march was, “All four years, we’ll be here!” Signs were seen supporting reproductive rights, regarding environmental issues, protesting President Trump, and raising awareness of sexual assault. There was no distinct issue being acknowledged, but marchers gathered to show general support of all women in every aspect of their lives. In the words of many marchers, “This is what democracy looks like!”
