Feature Photo By: Karissa March – The crew for Almost, Maine has worked long hours to build the set which displays the Northern Lights. Opening night is February 16th at 7pm.
Almost, Maine is coming to Rangeview on February 16th, 17th, and 18th. This comedic play is an all-school show that presents the magical things that happen when people fall in and out of love.
According to director Kaily Anderson, this show consists of several short plays, some funny and some serious, that take place during the northern lights in a small town in Maine.
The cast and crew have been working long hours in order to put on an amazing production for viewers on opening night.
“I chose it [the play] because it’s different than anything else we had been doing this year and because it has a big cast and there’s a lot of talented actors at Rangeview that I thought it could showcase,” explained Anderson. “The cast does an excellent job.”
The show follows a series of relationships of the residents of Almost, Maine. Some of these characters are portrayed by seniors Nate Beutel who plays East, Chris Arias who plays Glory, Hannah Metzger who plays Gayle, and Adam Koudsi who plays Pete.
Junior Maddie Heiken, who plays the role of Sandrine, said, “A majority of the scenes are so real and raw that I feel like students will be able to easily relate to them and enjoy the show on a deeper level.”
The show puts a comedic twist on the typical love story which Anderson believes can “really resonate with students.” This production is unique because, unlike many other shows put on by Rangeview, it doesn’t feature a lead role.
“You can expect a lot of laughs, but also a but of heartbreak,” explained Heiken, “The play is meant to be cute, but it still tugs in your heartstrings.”
You can come support Rangeview Theatre this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $6 for students with an activity card, $7 for students/senior citizens, and $8 for adults.
