Last week on the 16th, 17th, and 18th, Deron Solomon (12) and Bryan Fierro (11) competed in the CHSAA state wrestling championships. Fierro was eliminated in the first round of consolation matches and Solomon was eliminated in the quarterfinal round of consolations. Though neither placed, the tournament was competitive and memorable. Regarding his first year at the state competition, Fierro said, “State was awesome… There was a lot of great competition.” Solomon also commented on his second year making it to state, “It was one of the most exciting and fun experiences of my life.” (Izzy Honey)
