As the school year is beginning, most students are worrying about homework, jobs, or college. Hopefully, some of this stress can be alleviated with the first social event of the year. Rangeview is putting on the third annual back to school dance – the Color Dance – tonight from 7-10pm.
The dance is framed after a color run and students should come dressed in all-white. Colored chalk will be thrown at students sporadically as they dance and enjoy the night. The chalk can be removed from clothing just by throwing them in the washing machine after getting home.
Many students are looking forward to the dance. Indi Sandika, junior and leadership student, said, “Olivia [Muzylowski, the senior class president] had only printed out like 400 [tickets] but we sold more than that.” She added, “I’m excited to see a lot of people.”
Tickets are selling for $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
Senior Kyra Titworth is also excited for the event, as she stated, “I went to the one sophomore and junior year and I had fun, so I’m sure it will be fun this year.”
Leadership students worked hard creating posters to promote the dance and sold tickets all of last week and this week.
According to Sandika, “ [Leadership] really had to advertise because we wanted a lot of people there.”
Chips and soda will be for sale during the dance and color packets can be bought for $2 each throughout the night.
Grace Kochman, senior, is ready for the dance because she’s, “excited to get colorful.”
Be sure to make it to the color dance in head-to-toe white tonight on the tennis courts for music, dancing, and a pop of color.
