Summer is coming to an end in September and fall is right around the corner. Most of us can expect brand new movie releases coming to theaters or new albums from current or up and coming artists.

An anticipated movie that is showing in theaters at the moment is the modern rendition of Stephen King’s IT and Tommy Wallace’s 1990s mini series of the novel. The story of IT is focused around seven children who are tormented by an entity who exploits their greatest fears and hunts them down as its prey.

Many people are looking forward to this movie. As Beimnet Mulugeta, junior, said, “Oh my gosh! I would love to go see IT.” She added, “Even though I hate scary movies, it just seems like a good thriller and I would have a lot of fun going with my friends.”

With the recent release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok is an upcoming Marvel movie that will

be released on November 3rd, 2017. In Ragnarok, Thor will team up with the Hulk in a race against time to stop Hela from destroying Asgard and its civilization.Behzod Mirpochoev, junior, said, “I think that Thor: Ragnarok will truly be a great movie due to the fact that Marvel Studios is able to keep the same formula for every movie but include unique aspects into each movie and this time, the current events in the Marvel universe will change the outcome of this movie.”

Movies aren’t the only topic of conversation. A few artists have either released or are planning on releasing new music within the next few weeks.

An artist who has recently made a name for himself is XXXTentacion. With his breakthrough song ‘Look at Me’, he recently released his debut studio album, 17, on August 25, 2017 from the record label, EMPIRE Distribution. This album features 11 tracks and is said to be a very emotional album to those who’ve listened to it.

Jordan Alveranga, junior, said, “It’s not entirely what I expected from X, but it’s even better because it provides a whole new perspective to life itself.”

Another artist who has been in the game for quite a while is Post Malone. Mostly known for his hit single, White Iverson, and his debut album, Stoney, he is expected to release a number of songs in the following weeks.

Hunter Irwin, junior, said, “Post Malone is dropping a couple songs in the next few weeks. I’m expecting some heat, cause Posty never disappoints.”
