Three cheers for Rangeview

Feature Photo By: Vanessa Guereca – The cheerleaders raise spirit at the Anvil game against Gateway. They attended all the football games up until the last game and now they’re preparing for winter sports.
This year, Rangeview’s cheer team had a head start on the game by attending camp during the summer in Missouri at Tantara Resorts. This is only the beginning of exciting events for the cheerleaders.

A big event for our cheerleaders this year is Nationals, which is only one competition they will be attending. Before Nationals they will be going to six competitions. Last year they took first place in League and Winter Blast and 14th at State and they plan to do just as good this year. Nationals and the other three competitions will be something new for the cheerleaders.
“I’m feeling really excited for the season to come and very confident with our performance,” head captain Olivia Muzylowski says, “Also, I am a senior so I’m excited to leave it all on the mats for my last year.”
Although they have done pretty good at competitions, Nationals is a much more elite competition to come.
Coach Betty Gessesse says, “I have no worries. I’m very confident in the skill level we have this year.”
After this year there will be 10 seniors graduating: Livia Sundberg, Olivia Muzylowski, Roxeanne Rolake, Janelle Ramos, Arianna Ahumada, Sarah Wall, Santana Noel, Heysel Avilez, Marina Douglas, and Maliah Cruz.
“I’m excited for the upcoming competition season, and cheering in the game day division,” co-captain Sundberg said, “but I’m worried about competing with a smaller team in the competition division.”
Come attend and support Rangeview cheer at league, November 8th right here at Rangeview, and at their state competition December 8th at the Denver Coliseum.
The cheer season is in session and the cheer team is ready to take on their competition and make their way to Nationals to compete in their two different divisions in hopes of having a great competition season once again.
