Feature Photo By: Katiana Williams – Officer Hickox sits while doing work during sixth period. Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, which was founded in 2015 in order to show appreciation and to thank officers across the county for their hard work and sacrifice. “It’s nice to have people actually come up to you and thank you for what you do,” Officer Hickox said. It is also a day to remember those have lost their lives while on duty. In 2018, there was a total of 144 deaths in the line of duty which was five more than in 2017.
