Fifth in her class, Kandace Wilkins does anything she sets her mind to.
Coming from Quest Middle school, Wilkins began her freshman year strong and from then on many say she only got better and brighter.
With a weighted GPA of 4.7 she will be earning her high school diploma as well as receiving her associates degree in psychology. “Because of my family, I am achieving my goal of not only being in the top ten of my class but also getting my associates in psychology along with my High School Diploma.” she said.
Many believe this is a huge accomplishment; “Kandace is one of the most mature students I have worked with in 26 years,” her counselor Arlene Lanier said. “Intelligent, inquisitive and poised; she has deservedly earned a spot in the top ten because of her diligence and curiosity.”
This diligence and curiosity will grace the University of Denver campus where Wilkins will further her Psychology degree in hopes to become an elementary or middle school counselor.
Senior Hana Fentahun believes Wilkins will thrive in the field. “She’s a very nurturing and understanding person who automatically makes you feel comfortable at first sight.” Fentahun said.
Wilkins leaves off with these finals word for the graduating class:
“To the Class of 2019, thank you for being an amazing class and making my time at Rangeview absolutely spectacular. You are all such an amazing group of people and I can’t wait to see where you all go and what goals you all accomplish! p.s Congratulations to all of you, WE DID IT!”
