This year’s Boys 6A Basketball Playoffs have some surprising teams. On February 25, there were 8 play-in round games. Out of all the games there were 2 surprising games. One of the games is a matchup between number 29 Legend and number 36 Cherry Creek. The lower seeded Creek upsetted Legend with a three point win. Another game is number 26 Legacy going up against number 39 Vista Peak Prep. Vista came out with a 23 point win being a heavy underdog. All of the first-round matchups have now been finalized. Several of the first round games have matchups between close seed schools. One game of the first round is a matchup between number 16 George Washington and number 17 Fairview. Along with number 15 Northfield and number 18 Arvada West.
Once the playoffs reach the great eight all the games are going to be held at the Denver Coliseum. Games start at the Denver Coliseum on March 8th and the state championship is on March 15th.
Rangeview Boys Basketball has had an amazing season by staying undefeated all season and coming into the playoffs number one in the state. This success comes with new additions to this season’s team. With incoming Freshmen Marceles Duncan to transfers LaDavian King and Aidan Perez this year’s team has exceeded all expectations by playing at such a high level.
