Rangeview has secured its first championship win of the season. On Saturday, November 1st, Rangeview High School competed at the Denver Public Schools league championship cheer competition located at Denver North High School.
The team competed in the Varsity Game Day division along with other schools such as our rival, Vista Peak, Denver East, and Thomas Jefferson. Teams were judged on how well they demonstrated skills relevant to a game day environment, like execution of stunts, motion technique, crowd leading, use of props like signs and flags, team synchronization, and crowd engagement.
Rangeview’s cheer team swept the floor, and more importantly, the judges. The judges were blown away by their amazing routine, awarding Rangeview 82.5 points. This is 10 more points than Denver East, who placed 2nd, with Thomas Jefferson coming in at 3rd and Vista Peak coming in at 4th

“…I was just blown away, but I was really proud of them…we were like, whatever you score, you should be really proud because you guys rocked it. You did good. It was like a flawless routine,” stated, Head Coach Stephanie Exum.
The competition season has just begun, and there are many more chances for Rangeview to show its power and ability.
Exum explained, “We have regionals coming up on November 15th, and then we go to state on December 11th. So I expect them to place really high at both, if not first, which would be great.”
