Currently 5-14 overall and 4-6 in league, the baseball team is finishing off their season. Many say that the team did not have a great season after only defeating Aurora Central, Hinkley, Gateway, Denver South and Adams City.

“It wasn’t the season we were looking for but it’s something to build off of,“ stated  junior varsity player, Carlos Estrada.

Carlos believes that this season is going to give him a big push into next year. He says that as of right now he doesn’t necessarily know where he wants to go to college, but he hopes to get a scholarship and get some of his tuition paid off.

“I really believe that the season is going to be a building season into next year and hopefully it will help me get a scholarship and get some tuition paid off,” said Estrada.

The team took 6th overall in their 5A/4A East Metro league, which is two spots lower than last year. Once again behind Northglenn.

“I’m encouraged by the season because I saw that we have a lot of young talent that is coming back next year,” said coach Gonzalez.

Their last game was Monday the 7th against Northglenn and they lost 5-2. Many say that they have a lot to learn from but say that it’s only going to get better.

“It was fun to watch them even though they didn’t have the best season. I do think that as a lot of the players continue that the team will keep getting better,” said baseball fan and sophomore Ryan Duggan.

The team finished the season off with a three game losing streak and a .263 winning percentage.
