The ball is spiked over the net and echos throughout the gym as the opposing team attempts to dive for it. It hits the ground with a bang, and the point is given to Rangeview. Volleyball season is back for yet another season of victories.

With a wide range of talents and skills, the fall season brings along with it sets of fresh faces along with returning ones, all determined and prepared.

Sophomore Morgyn Salter spoke, “I’m preparing for the season by
conditioning and working on my hitting and passing skills,” adding, “I’m looking forward to learning more about the sport and getting better. Also, getting to know my teammates as if they were family.”

From right side hitter to setter, hopeful minds encourage the lady Raiders on the team to bond more and improve on their varied positions.

“I feel like I am most accomplished at the defensive specialist (DS) libero position because it’s what I’ve played all throughout my time playing volleyball.” said varsity senior Kourtney Grunlien.

The girls volleyball team took on Fairview in their home territory on Tuesday, but fell short 3-1. Their next game will be Thursday, September 8th against ThunderRidge at home.
