This year the boys golf team is doing better than last. They finished 4th in the EMAC league last season. Then, 3rd in the EMAC league this year after a Prairie View player was forced to forfeit from the league.

“I hope the rest of the season will go good,” said Senior Jared Clanton.

After coming back from a wrist break over the summer, Jared was able to get back into the swing of things.

Clanton believes he and Levi Robinson have a decent shot of making it to state, “I shot 80, and Levi made 82 [at their last tournament].”

The boys finished 2nd in the south division of the regional tournament, after finishing 1st last year. They are hoping this means they will finish well in regionals, and possibly qualify for state.

“Levi finished 1st team all conference, Jared would also been 1st team, but he missed the first tournament due to his wrist injury,” said boys golf coach Merlin Johnson.
The regional golf tournament is today at Broadlands Golf Course, and that will determine if the boys make it to state. If they make it to state, they will also compete on September 28th.
