The Rangeview football team did not have a great season this year. The team worked so hard since the beginning of last February until this August for the season; from summer workouts to morning workouts, before and after school. Many players even participated in track to improve their speed and strength, but the season did not reflect the effort we put in to get better.
The Rangeview football team went 1-9 this season; as a whole, the team was not satisfied with the turnout . We were so pumped up for the season to start; we believed in our team due to the hard work put in. Football players had been working so hard, it was unbelievable how this season went.
“All the early morning workouts, summer workouts, and those other workouts went to waste,” junior captain Jacqui Lee Ricks stated.
I guarantee next year will be different. We will be better. Rangeview football will be fun again.
“All the hard work we did this off-season was not shown in any type of way,” sophomore starting quarterback, Reece Berkey said. “Our hard work was shown, but didn’t show on the scoreboard.”
The Raiders expected more than just a one-game win this season. The most disappointing part was that Rangeview in a league full of teams that didn’t have a good season last year. This season proved that there is a lot of work to do — especially because of the league we are in.
I guarantee next year will be different. We will be better. Rangeview football will be fun again.
During the season, improvements were seen; again, it was not reflected on the scoreboard. Every week, we fixed things that we had problems with from the previous week.
“The little things were holding us back on and off the field,” Head Coach Brandon Alconcel said. “Like being late to 7th period (Strength and Conditioning), missing practice, not holding each other accountable, disciplinary issues, missing class and many more.”
As a team it showed how holding ourselves back is a small problem with huge consequences.
This is a season that should be put behind us and keep working to get better. Pre-season workouts have begun, the football team is attempting to get better right now, in November.
“We are trying to build some team comradery making sure are kids trust each other and making sure they have good football intelligence or football knowledge,” defensive backs football coach Everett Bible expressed, “so that as we hit the field next year we have better skills and better progression of skills so our players can be more successful.”
I guarantee next year will be different. We will be better. Rangeview football will be fun again.
