As you may know, due to Covid-19, CHSAA has changed the schedule for high school sports this year. Right now, practices are beginning for season B in Colorado. There are a lot of different sports happening at different times than usual, and there are also some Covid related rules for this high school season only.

Season B sports across the state include boys and girls basketball, wrestling, girls swimming, ice hockey, skiing, and spirit. Rangeview doesn’t have ice hockey or skiing, but there will still be a ton of active Raiders competing during season B.

The CHSAA preseason rankings were released for both boys and girls basketball this past week. The Rangeview girls team came in ranked at #11, and the boys will start the season ranked at #3 on the list. These rankings are voted on by the coaches of high school teams in Colorado. Both the boys and girls basketball teams play their first games tomorrow, January 27th.

Competition for all season B sports began as early as yesterday, January 25th, while official practices began last week. Rangeview athletes have done a great job at following the Covid-19 guidelines in accordance with masks, and number of people limitations. All APS athletes have had to start testing for Covid-19 every other week, and that will continue throughout all of season B.

Even though there won’t be any fans allowed at competitions, and a lot of season B athletes will have to wear masks during events, our Raiders and athletes across the state are still ready to play their sports and compete again.
