Introduction
Donald Trump began his second term on January 20th of 2025, meaning he is now roughly 31% into his four year presidency. In spite of Donald Trump’s vendetta against the Department of Education, we shall grade his presidency based on the standard grading system, A-F. So let’s take a second to reflect and rate how Trump has performed so far in his presidency, more specifically on his execution of rulings towards immigration and economic status.
Donald Trump’s Immigration Policy
Since Donald Trump’s return to office in January 2025, he’s implemented a mass, large-scale sweeping of immigrants across the United States. His actions have left nothing but a dehumanizing and terrifying impact on the Hispanic community as they fear for both their own lives and the lives of their loved ones.
The Trump Administration’s prosecution of a maximalist agenda towards immigration has created an increase in border enforcement, mass deportations, and a restriction towards both legal and illegal immigration. The Administration has formed a goal of 3,000 arrests per day, which is a ridiculously large
number of people being arrested and deported, especially every day. If they do manage to achieve this goal for a week, that would be 21000 individuals detained and sent to detention centers. Now imagine them doing this for a month straight, now that number would be 91250 people taken by ICE. Those are 91250 people getting taken away from their families, 91250 families getting broken apart by the actions of ICE, 91250 people wondering what they did to deserve this violation of liberty. With the breaking apart of innocent families and arrests of people doing no wrong, Trump gets an F.
These raids regarding Immigration Customs Enforcement have expanded and grown so much, with the agents infiltrating sensitive areas like schools, hospitals, and places of worship. They have gone back on a previous enforced policy that was implemented by Biden during his presidency that protected those specific locations from ICE based on the concept of them having “common sense” to not target those areas. With the change of this policy, it now puts undocumented immigrants who are just trying to find and gain access to medical care, education, and religious services at risk of being attacked and profiled by ICE. Based on this breach of safety and morally indefensible action, once again, Trump has an F.
Donald Trump has focused on the concept of building a border between the U.S and Mexico for over a decade, with the idea originating first in 2014 and then eventually being his main pillar while building his presidential campaign in 2015. On May 7, 2018, the then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions implemented a “Zero Tolerance” policy that targeted illegal border crossings. The purpose of this policy was to reduce the burden of processing asylum claims, as the Trump Administration handled their case fraudulently, and to attempt and discourage illegal migration into the United States. This enforced policy has split up multiple families that were just wanting to flee violent threats and conditions;, under 3000 children were split from their parents. Trump Administration Officials argue that the Zero Tolerance policy was necessary to maintain order, curb illegal immigration, and prevent fraudulent asylum cases at the southwest border. The unruly separation of families gives Trump an F.
Overall, Donald Trump gets an F on his Immigration Policy due to the separation of innocent families through violence and unlawful actions, and the backtrack of legal laws and safety policies.
Donald Trump’s Impact On Economy
Donald Trump’s Economy has already presented lasting consequences. Since January of 2025, the GDP has had an annualized rate of 4.3%, which is how much the GDP grows a quarter. While this is seen as a good
thing, it’s more than likely an economic phenomenon known as a “Sugar high”. What this means is that the growth we’ve seen so far is caused by Trump’s deregulation and domestic investment, because of how rapidly he’s attempted to cut us off from foreign products, which can cause our economy to crash rapidly due to a lack of supplies, leading to more demand and a spike in prices. Because of the uncertainty of whether or not this is a sugar high, we give the GDP growth a B-.
Despite this GDP spike, the economy for the average American has impacted their daily lives negatively. The Hillhill recently mentioned Karl Rove’s opinion on the economy, who is a GOP strategist, saying, “An adviser to former President George W. Bush, Rove cited the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data showing that the U.S. lost an estimated 68,000 manufacturing jobs last year. The BLS also reported last month that annual inflation hit 2.7 percent in December, with food and energy prices up 3.1 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively.” The average consumer has seen their prices across every board (Besides gas and oil) rise in a way comparable to Covid times. The average consumer score will be given an F.
Trump has also shown the people he does not want to lower prices. Trump said at a Jan. 29 Cabinet meeting he wants to “ drive housing prices up for people that own their homes”. He has yet to live up to any of the economic promises he made during his campaign, and as of February 2026, it doesn’t look like he plans or wants to fulfill his promise of economic relief.
His threats and actions against fellow native members have also shown us Europe’s willingness to cut off vital economic resources. Germany exports high-value goods like vehicles, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, Many of which the United States cannot manufacture or would take several Decades in order to begin producing these goods in the amount we would need in order to match current economic output. His initiative for the economy will also be given an F.
Donald Trump has lived up to only one promise:, gas prices. Since the beginning of his presidency, gas prices nationally have fallen from 2.11 dollars to 1.91. (Prices are per gallon) Compared to the average price under Biden of 3.45 (From the Energy Information Administration), this seems like a good increase. However, since December of 2025, gas prices have shot up 21 percent. This isn’t necessarily Trump’s fault;, however, neither is the lowering of gas prices. In September of 2024, the average gas price was at 1.97 dollars. We can’t be certain for now, so Trump’s oil prices will be given a C+.
Possibly the most concerning reality of Trump’s economy is his tariffs. In April 2025, Trump imposed a 10% universal tariff on almost all imports, which brought in 287 billion dollars. While this seems like a good thing, the New York Times reported that domestic prices rose due to businesses passing the cost to consumers. In addition to these cost spikes, Manufacturing employment has dropped every single month following these tariffs. We give these actions, more specifically, his International economic job, an F.
To summarize his economy, it’s not great… All of his actions have actively hurt the American economy, and his actions have put us at risk of a global recession. Overall, his economy will be given an F+. We have seen our economy suffer and enter a free fall, but there is still much to see how Trump’s Actions will affect us.
Domestic Impact
Donald Trump’s ability to lead our nation has been highlighted as one of the worst in history, compatible with presidents such as Andrew Johnson.
Donald Trump’s continuous and hateful speech towards all who disagree with him, whether it be Democratic lawmakers, orto Marjorie Taylor Greene, being labeled as a traitor for disagreeing with him. He has steered the Republican Party more towards attacking the left, rather than cooperation. His dismissal and blatant racism have become his administration’s trademark, especially after he posted a video of former president and first lady Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as apes.
What’s most concerning, and possibly the worst case of American leadership, was his call and endorsement to kill Democrats after several Congressmen and Congresswomen put out a video in November of 2025, encouraging the military not to follow unconstitutional orders, which was highlighted as their duty to their country. If the current president of our country is calling for the death of lawmakers and endorsing the hanging of them, he can no longer be titled as a “good leader”. That is traitorous and horrible, under any circumstances. What makes this action worse is his showing support for his followers to preach these criminal calls to action. That is not a leader; that is simply a madman who has too much power. On social media, we can see how our views have changed since Trump’s second term. The people now feel the need to move to more extreme sides of the political spectrum. The norm no longer resides with the moderates; it’s shifted to drastic solutions due to insane circumstances. The Proud Boysproud boys, a far-right white supremacist group, can march on Washington with no penalty. Calling Hispanic people “Aliens” and “Illegals” to dehumanize them is more common now than ever before in the 21st Century. For these reasons, Trump will be given an overwhelming F for leadership.
Conclusion:
To sum up his presidency, he has done a horrible job. Donald Trump’s presidency, especially his second term, has shown the American people his inability and unwillingness to provide and fight for the whole of the American people. He is both unprofessional and incredibly hateful to all who disagree with him. He does not live up to his promises, yet he gives only the most dedicated of his supporters what they want. Overall, Donald Trump’s presidency will be given a resounding F.
