The transition of winter to spring brings in new collections from the brands we love. During the pandemic, fashion industries have had to learn and adapt. Whether it be live streamed fashion shows or social distancing runway modeling, there are new quarantine looks with fresh feels. The Spring 2021 trends are trends of the late 90’s and early 2000’s, bringing unisex pieces for all to wear.

According to Vogue Magazine, “The biggest shift in the garments that flashed across our screens is that, for the first time in a long time, these looked like clothes that are meant to be worn.”

  • Sweater Vests

A great way to keep up with the ever changing weather in Colorado. Whether layering when it’s chilly or wearing it by itself, this piece will keep you up with the weather while looking cute. Varying from your price points you can get Sweater vests from H&M, Bershka, Shein, Thrift stores, and other places.

  • Trench Coats

With rainy weather, let the trench coats come out, a classic piece that should be added to your collection. From bold sleeves, to interesting slits, this can become a statement piece. When wearing trench coats try to pair within the same color scheme; if you’re wearing a tan one, wear neutrals or pastels.

  • Oversized Button Downs

A skater vibe to remember. Whether you skateor not this piece speaks out to the edgy side of you. Layered on top of long sleeves or short sleeves leaving it unbuttoned will give off the aesthetic you want.

  • Statement Coats

Bright colored or patchwork, these coats will be the staple item in your closet. Paired with anything making a basic look into an exciting one with an Emma Chamberlain vibe.

  • Cool Khakis

Giving off that “indie” vibe, khakis are the way to go. When paired with oversized sweaters layered underneath with a collared shirt or turtleneck, what you have is a fit without looking like an old person.

  • Big Jeans Big Vibes

A blast from the past, baggy jeans are in once again, being the star piece from the early 2000’s to the 2020’s. Perfect for street wear, baggy jeans — mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, and wide leg jeans are all examples of these baggy jeans — can be paired best with a little shirt or oversized ones.

  • Pastels Preferred

Soft bursts of color elevating your look depending on your mood. Pastels can either brighten up your day or make your day chill. Pastels are what make up spring in the fashion industry, just like how blues and greys make up the winter.

“Ease into 2021 in something pretty and pastel? The old rules no longer apply,” according to Harper’s Bazaar. “See what you’ll be wearing for the revolution.”
