Following the rough season last year, the Lady Raiders are looking to bounce back from a 1-22 finish from last season. This will be their first season under new head coach, Coach Dave Clark.
With the Lady Raiders losing key players with departing seniors, the team is looking forward to new players stepping up, and plenty of adapting. Senior Izzy Clark said about her final season of high school softball, “I’m a little sad this is my last season, because I really enjoy being a part of my team cause it’s like my second family. But I’m also excited because I know that it’s gonna be a good last season.”
After speaking with Coach Clark, about the biggest challenges the team faced last season and what improvements he looks to bring as head coach. Coach Clark stated, “Mental toughness, overcoming adversity, and lack of confidence. I want to change the culture, improve the facilities, increase the repetition in practice, and have more fun.”
With this being the last season for most of the team including captains: Diana Esquivel, Isella Gonzalez, and Jazmyn Nunez, the Lady Raiders look forward to improving from last season with new goals, expectations, and strengths.
