Eaglecrest High School has one of the strongest reputations for school pride in the district and surprisingly, one of the biggest reasons is a simple bumper sticker. While other schools show their pride through spirit wear or game day outfits, Eaglecrest has created a symbol that lasts long after graduation which just happens to be bright red and black eagle detail has practically become legendary.
Students and parents often share stories about spotting the Eaglecrest sticker in unexpected places. Rangeview senior Ethan Dagadu says, “Me and my family were traveling to New Mexico to visit family and I was literally at a random gas station, not deserted, but still… and I saw the Eaglecrest sticker. It’s almost annoying that I see it so much and I always notice the stickers when I am out. It makes the school feel huge,” he said.
Eaglecrest has built a level of loyalty that people carry with them wherever they go too. That loyalty is obvious on cars that keep the sticker for decades. Families rarely remove this detail, even after their student graduates. Some alumni still have it on their vehicles years later because it represents something meaningful.
Senior Knowles Balusi even says “I went to Eaglecrest for my freshman and sophomore year, and I actually still have it in my car even though me and my siblings don’t go there anymore.” she explained. “I think it’s kinda crazy cause even though I moved schools I don’t feel the need to remove it which I feel like is why a bumper stick is so versatile and smart.
This level of pride makes Eaglecrest stand out. Other schools have pride, but Eaglecrest has something that lasts and spreads. The bumper sticker has become more than a logo and it’s proof of how strongly the Eaglecrest community stands behind its school long after students move on.
